CLTA's 111th Annual Convention
Ojai Valley Inn & Spa, Ojai
April 22-24, 2018
The CLTA is looking forward to welcoming you at the 111th Annual Convention at the Ojai Valley Inn & Spa in beautiful Ojai Valley, California.
About the Ojai Valley Inn & Spa
Nestled in the idyllic enclave of Ojai is the historic Ojai Valley Inn & Spa, a luxurious retreat that has been one of California’s most revered destinations since opening in 1923. Located just 90 minutes north of Los Angeles, the resort overlooks the unspoiled natural beauty of its mountain surroundings and celebrates the relaxed glamour of California’s past to create an unparalleled resort experience that is quintessentially Ojai. Through the years, the resort has continued to add fresh elements that further elevate the resort experience while remaining true to its authentic spirit, including a re-imagined grand arrival experience; apiary and immersive beekeeping program; chic outdoor oasis Indigo Pool; signature restaurant Olivella; the thoughtfully refreshed, historic Wallace Neff Heritage Bar, and Libbey’s, a fresh artisan market, café and boutique.
Set on 220 oak studded acres, the resort offers an abundance of active and peaceful pleasures with a George C. Thomas designed golf course; soul soothing spa therapies at the 31,000 square foot Spa Ojai; instruction that encourages creative consciousness in the Artist Cottage; essential oil blending in the Apothecary; multiple pools, and more than five dining outlets with settings that range from fast-casual to fine dining, recognized by Wine Spectator with the 2016 Best of Award of Excellence. In 2016, the Inn was honored as the #5 Best Resort in Southern California by the readers of Conde Nast Traveler and ranked #8 Resort Hotel in California in Travel + Leisure’s 2017 “World’s Best Awards.” These and other accolades affirm the Inn as a treasured destination that authentically combines the region's unspoiled spirituality with 21st century luxury.
About the Region
Tuesday afternoon would be the best time to take advantage of Ojai Valley’s unique east-west orientation. Off-property excursions include guided hiking, bird watching tours, artist studio tours, jeep tours, ocean and lake fishing, surfing and kayak lessons in the Pacific Ocean or nearby Lake Casitas. Ojai’s unique topography, lying in a valley spanning east to west, sets the stage for the very rare “Pink Moment” when the sun melts away and paints the west-facing bluffs a brilliant, blushing pink. A warm aura of calm emanates, creating the perfect backdrop for a romantic getaway.
The Ojai Valley Inn is a pet friendly resort with a variety of amenities for furry members of the family. Special offerings include house-made organic dog treats, eco-friendly Harry Barker pet beds and a personalized welcome letter from Coco, the resort’s own furry ambassador.
Check out the Discover Ojai Center which invites guests to go beyond traditional resort experiences and explore the vast activities available in Ojai and on-property at the Ojai Valley Inn.
This year’s Icebreaker Reception will take place outdoors on the beautiful Orchard Event Lawn, while you take in the fragrant lavender enjoying views of the surrounding mountains. Plentiful hors d’oeuvres and refreshing libations will be served in this idyllic setting while you network with peers.
A great business program is planned for Monday morning, with knowledgeable speakers slated to discuss the industry's hottest topics, as well as, an update from ALTA on the industry at a national level. Enjoy a refreshing continental breakfast prior to the Business Program with service beginning at 8:00am.
CLTA-PAC Golf Tournament
Following the Business Program, CLTA-PAC’s shotgun Golf Tournament takes place on-site at the George C. Thomas Jr. designed 18-hole championship golf course. Originally built in 1923, the course was hailed “a marvel of golfing architecture.” At 6,292 yards from the blue tees, it is a par 70 course with six par four’s over 400 yards and three par three’s over 200 yards. Golfers should find the course to be a challenging and rewarding golf experience no matter their level of play. All proceeds from the tournament will be directed to the CLTA-PAC.
CLTA-PAC Wine Tour
Southern California offers some of the best vineyards in the country, and Ojai Valley, known for its beautiful scenery, is no exception. Join a select group of fellow Convention attendees for CLTA-PAC's Wine Tour & Tasting where you will take a short trip to visit Old Creek Winery for a delicious winery tour and tasting before returning to the outskirts of charming downtown Ojai and a stop at the Topa Mountain Winery tasting room. Attendees will leave directly from the Ojai Valley Inn for an array of fine wines and a sampling of light eats. Proceeds from this event benefit the CLTA-PAC.
