Recording Fees to Increase
Recording fees will increase by as much as $6 on January 1st under a new California law. Senate Bill 676 raised the maximum charge for recording the first page of a document from $4 to $10. The maximum charge has not changed since 1985. This increase does not affect other recording fees such as the fee for the social security number truncation program.
