United Rentals Northwest v. Snider Lumber (PDF)
Under Civil Code Section 3106, a "work of improvement" includes the demolition and/or removal of buildings. The court held that lumber drying kilns are "buildings" so the contractor who dismantled and removed them was entitled to a mechanic's lien.
