A flurry of last-minute amendments gave SB 1178 (Corbett) the votes it needed to pass out of the state Senate earlier this month, just one day prior to a legislative deadline that requires bills to have passed out of their house of origin in order to remain active. The amendments narrowed the scope of the bill, which deals with deficiency judgments, to apply to the total of the loan amount used to acquire a piece of real property.
