State Revenue Drops
State Controller John Chiang recently released figures showing April revenue $3.6 billion below estimates. This means that so far this fiscal year the state budget deficit has grown by $1.3 billion. This growing deficit will put even more pressure on the Legislature and Governor to find a way to balance the budget without the use of one time gimmicks and borrowings.
