The Case-Shiller Index recently showed some small improvement with the third month-over-month increase in a row. Average home prices are still down 30.2 percent from market peak. The index rose 1.6% from June 2009 – July 2009. Notably, July 2009 versus July 2008 is still down 13.3%. Only two cities of 20 included in the index showed month-over-month price declines: Las Vegas down 1.1 percent and Seattle down a miniscule, almost immeasurable, 0.1 percent.
