Title Industry Meets with GAO
CLTA Executive Vice President Craig Page and CLTA representative Bill Burding recently met with the Government Accountability Office (GAO) on issues surrounding the real estate process. ALTA representatives and industry members from several states attended the meeting where title company representatives provided basic information about title searches, policy coverages and the differences between judicial and non-judicial foreclosures. The meeting allowed the industry to explain the value of title insurance for consumers and insureds in the foreclosure process.
