CLTA Works with Author of Copy Services Bill
Assembly Bill 1373 (Lieu) would have potentially prohibited title companies from providing grant deeds and other documents to consumers, lenders, and realtors. Upon learning of the bill’s provisions, the CLTA worked with Assemblyman Lieu’s office, as well as representatives from the California Escrow and California Bankers Associations, to craft amendments to allow existing business practices to continue undisrupted.
