CLTA Political Action Committee
The California Land Title Association actively promotes the interests of our industry, while assisting in and protecting the integrity of land transfers within California. In a similar manner, the CLTA-Political Action Committee assists and protects our industry in Sacramento. For some thirty-five years, CLTA-PAC has acted as a bipartisan committee supporting candidates and legislators who are interested in and support CLTA's efforts.
Contributions are always sincerely appreciated and go far in making the voice of the title industry heard in Sacramento. On behalf of our association, all of our members, and our many title company employees, thank you to those of you who have already given your support to the CLTA-PAC. At the request of several of our members, CLTA has started accepting individual PAC contributions, in addition to corporate donations. As many of you will remember, CLTA President Jeff Brown sent out a letter urging individuals to consider this option and we are pleased to report that a number of you showed your generosity by sending a personal check.
In recognition of those member companies and individuals who have voluntarily given PAC donations, we have posted a list on our CLTA website. Both the Member Company and Individual PAC donations lists will be updated regularly as we receive new contributions.
The CLTA has a fundraising goal of reaching over $65,000 in PAC donations this year, and we are currently at approximately $50,000. This $15,000 gap is not insurmountable and is certainly achievable with your support. If you now send in your contributions, this commitment will help us to get closer to that goal of raising $65,000 by December 31, 2010.
