Governor Jerry Brown's Budget Summary for 2012-2013 includes a proposal to reorganize and consolidate state government. The proposal includes a plan to eliminate the Department of Real Estate and the Office of Real Estate Appraisers and place both as bureaus under the Department of Consumer Affairs. The governor’s proposed budget still needs to be debated by the Legislature. The deadline to have a budget timely passed by lawmakers and signed by Governor Brown is June 30.
