Update on Statistical Plan
A new statistical reporting plan for insurers will be implemented in 2012. Industry expert, Don Partington, stated the regulations have some ambiguities. The CLTA is reconstituting the Statistical Plan Working Group to give CLTA the ability to seek clarity from the CDI on some matters and to better educate CLTA members on the data collection requirements before they go into effect. The goal of the ad hoc committee will be to review the new required forms and procedures and put together some guidelines for all CLTA member companies to follow in complying with the Stat Plan requirements.
