The Buyer’s Choice Act, AB 957 (Galgiani), was introduced into the California Legislature earlier this year. The bill would give a buyer of residential property, which was previously acquired by the seller at a foreclosure sale, the right to choose the title and escrow provider. It would also prohibit a seller who acquired the property at a foreclosure sale from, without good cause, disapproving the use of a title or escrow company chosen by the buyer. The California Land Title Association is neutral on the legislation at this time.
