Assembly Passes Bill Dealing with Notices of Mechanics' Liens
AB 457 (Monning) would require a Notice of Mechanic’s Lien and a copy of the lien to be served on a property owner. Failure to serve the lien would render it unenforceable. The bill has passed out of the State Assembly, and is supported by the California Land Title Association. The bill was recently passed out of the Senate Judiciary Committee in early June with a unanimous vote.
