The CLTA has added additional speakers and topics to the Business Program scheduled to take place during its upcoming 102nd Annual Convention, being held from May 17 – 19, 2009 at the Quail Lodge in Carmel.
Hud-1 Update
Guest speaker Don Partington, from Fidelity National Title Insurance Company, will share his expert knowledge by presenting an update on the new RESPA Rules, specifically the recently updated HUD-1 Settlement Statement. The HUD-1 has new procedures for title closing, including accurate reporting of the Good Faith Estimate (GFE) as well as many other changes. You can expect to hear how lenders are using the forms, how to apply costs and other requirements for the GFE, and what your new responsibilities are.
SB 133 Compliance Panel
The CLTA has also created a Compliance Panel to discuss compliance issues with the new Title Marketing Representative Law, SB 133. Guest speakers will include individuals that took a very active role in drafting the legislation and developing training programs within their respective companies. The background behind the new law will be explained to help understand how the industry got to where it is today, and panel members will answer questions about the new law. Attendees will be requested to submit questions ahead of time.
