Governor Schwarzenegger vetoed 435 bills, a record number of vetoes for a California governor. These included bills the CLTA were following on escheat reporting, data security breaches, regulation of certain non-conforming loans and subdivision map act exceptions. Many of these bills will be reintroduced next year. The Governor blamed many of the vetoes on the state's historic budget delay, claiming that it did not give him enough time to properly review the bills.
