An Express Article from the California Land Title Association
Bulletin 12/13-19 - August 19, 2012
The California Escrow Association is reporting that SB 12 (Corbett), a bill originally intended to make changes to the bulk sales law, will be amended to remove all provisions relating to bulk sales. The bill was originally sponsored by the California Commission on Uniform State Laws. The California Escrow Association led a coalition of groups, including the CLTA and the Escrow Institute of California, in opposing the legislation.
The opponents of the bill considered the proposed changes as being detrimental both to consumers and creditors. The CEA was at the forefront of a great deal of grassroots effort that went into opposing the legislation.
