Key Changes with TRID Rule Update

In July, the CFPB finalized 560 pages of amendments to the TILA-RESPA Integrated Disclosure (TRID) rule. The amendments contain clarifications and technical changes that confront title and settlement agents commencing with the mandatory compliance date of Oct. 1, 2018. The CFPB provided significant flexibility in complying, which means lenders may implement parts of the amendments at various times. Highlights of the changes include addressing the disclosure of title premiums, affiliate charges and the resetting of tolerances. The ALTA plans to host a webinar to review the changes.
