ALTA Reports 2026 Q1 Title Premium Volume - California Up 15%

The title insurance industry generated $4.5 billion nationwide in title insurance premiums during the first quarter of 2026 compared to $3.9 billion during the same period a year ago, according to ALTA’s latest Market Share Analysis. 

Texas continues to lead the nation in title premiums, followed by Florida, California, New York and Pennsylvania. California premiums were $370,921,386, an increase of 15.3%.

The title insurance industry paid nearly $151 million in claims during the first three months of 2026. This is down from about $161 million in claims paid during the same period a year ago.
