California Title Premiums Grow in Q2

According to the ALTA Market Share Report, the second quarter of 2025 was a positive quarter for the title insurance industry overall. 

Title Insurance Premiums Written were up 11.2% from the second quarter of 2024. California was once again the #3 state and saw a premium gain of 8.7%. 

The title insurance industry generated $4.5 billion in title insurance premiums during the second quarter of 2025. This compared to $4.1 billion during the same period a year ago, according to ALTA.

This was the third-highest 2nd Quarter in the industry’s history. Total Operating Income was up 12.8%. Operating Expenses were up 12.4% and Loss and Loss Adjustment Expenses were up 3.5%, resulting in Net Operating Gain of $275.6 Million.  All ten of the largest states recorded increases. Texas was the #1 premium state, with Florida #2, and California coming in at #3.
