The February edition of the CLTA Capitol Report highlighted the introduction of Senate Bill 255 (Seyarto), which would require each county to establish a recorder notification program to, within 30 days of recordation of a deed, quitclaim deed, or deed of trust, notify the parties executing the document by mail or electronic communication. A recent set of amendments to the legislation that are now in print reflect a series of CLTA-negotiated amendments to the bill, which are intended to improve the effect and workability of the legislation.
