The Governor signed Assembly Bill 2624 (Bonta) as Chapter 117 that, on October 1, 2027 (a delayed implementation), expands the Secretary of State’s Safe at Home program to include immigration support services providers. The new law also includes a prohibition against publicly displaying, posting, disclosing or distributing on the internet the personal information or image of a program participant under specified circumstances. The Secretary of State must provide each program participant a notice in a clear and conspicuous font that contains certain information, including that a program participant may create a revocable living trust and place their real property into the trust to protect their residential street address from disclosure in real property transactions.
