Hundreds of Bills Remain for Governor's Attention

Governor Gavin Newsom has hundreds of remaining bills on his desk to sign or veto before the constitutional deadline of September 30. 

At the end of the Legislative session more than 800 bills were sent to the governor's desk.  The Secretary of State’s website shows that this year, through the end of August, the Governor signed 177 bills, including the state budget and several so-called “budget trailer” bills that implement various budget provisions. Several bills of interest to CLTA members are on the Governor’s desk awaiting action. Those include bills relating to privacy, recording fees, foreclosure forbearance, remote notarization and housing.
