CLTA Committees are comprised of individuals from CLTA member title companies. Joining a committee is one of the fastest ways to build your network, share and sharpen your expertise, and directly influence the future of the industry you work in. Turn hard-won lessons into industry-wide protection | 18 Members Total Purpose: Help identify emerging claims trends and share practical tips that keep title companies out of trouble. Members share real-world examples, shape the Claims Awareness Hot Sheet publication, and help coordinate one annual Claims Awareness Titlecast episode - giving you a direct voice in helping the industry avoid the next big claim.
Member Activities: Attend meetings and serve on either the Editorial Subcommittee (plans/edits the HotSheet publication, solicits articles) or the Workshop Subcommittee (develops one annual educational Titlecast episode, coordinating topics and speakers with CLTA staff).

Education Committee
Build the training that shapes the next generation of the industry. | 18 Members Total Purpose: Design and deliver the Titlecast episodes (beginner, intermediate & advanced levels) that keep California's title professionals sharp. This is your chance to raise the bar on competence and professionalism across the industry, not just within your own company.
Member Activities: Attend meetings, help coordinate topics and speakers for Titlecast episodes, which support in-house training for CLTA members.

Forms & Practices - Policy Updates & Related Cases Group
Put your fingerprints on the forms the whole industry relies on | 42 Members Total Purpose: This group reviews, revises, and proposes the industry forms and practices used statewide in the business of title insurance. It also evaluates and recommends best practices for title insurance operations in California through publishing the Manual of Title Practices. With work organized into focused sub-sections, there's a natural entry point for every area of expertise.
Member Activities: Attend meetings, join a subsection (Administrative, Legislation, Title Forms, CLTA Manual of Title Practices, Bankruptcy, Court Decisions, Electronic Recording & Notarization, Closing Instructions, Governmental Regulation, Subdivision & Land Use, Taxes, Bonds & Assessments, Title Documents). Respond to CLTA email inquiries from CLTA staff.

Legislative Review & Discussion Group
Have a seat at the table before new laws hit the industry. | 23 Members Total Purpose: Review legislation before it becomes policy. Members help decide which bills CLTA supports, opposes, or sponsors, and refer legislation directly to the Board of Governors on issues that matter to title professionals statewide.
Member Activities: Attend meetings as called by the Committee Chair or CLTA staff, respond to email inquiries in a timely manner.

Weigh in on the cases that could reshape the industry. | 12 Members Total Purpose: Evaluate requests for CLTA to participate in litigation with real impact on the business of title insurance, using a clear set of criteria to guide the Association's involvement in the cases that matter most.

Stay ahead of the technology and fraud trends changing the business. | 18 Members Total Purpose: Exchange ideas on risk, privacy, and technology, from title plant systems to industry data standards like MISMO and PRIA. Members help identify emerging technology-related fraud and develop the best practices that protect the whole membership.

Be the voice for escrow and settlement professionals. | 12 Members Total Purpose: Focus on the legislative and educational issues that affect day-to-day closings across California.
