Assembly Bill 2069 (Bonta) proposed requiring employers to offer reasonable accommodation to a qualified patient or person with an identification card who was using marijuana to treat a known physical or mental disability or known medical condition. The bill passed the Assembly Labor and Employment Committee but was held in the Assembly Appropriations Committee after opposition from numerous business groups, led by the California Chamber of Commerce.
