Zillow reports that only 197 cities of more than 10,000 analyzed have a median home value of $1 million or more but more are on the way, especially in California. A year ago, the number was 164, with 33 cities nationwide crossing into $1 million median territory over the past year.

Zillow expects another 23 cities to join the list in the coming year, including 14 in California. Unsurprisingly, California is already where more than half (111) of the nation’s million-dollar markets can be found. The next most highly represented state is New York.

Those towns and cities in California expected to join the million plus club are: Burbank, Morgan Hill, East Palo Alto, Los Alamitos, Broadmoor Village, Daly City, Alameda, La Habra Heights, San Clemente, Seal Beach, Fairfax, Dana Point, Brisbane and Newark.
