Rates Drop Slightly in Freddie Mac Survey

Last Week’s Freddie Mac Primary Mortgage Market Survey showed fixed rates for mortgage loans dropping slightly.
- 30-year Fixed Rate Mortgage (FRM) averaged 4.07 percent with an average 0.5 point for the week ending May 16, 2019, down from the prior week when it averaged 4.10 percent. A year ago at this time, the 30-year FRM averaged 4.61 percent.
- 15-year FRM averaged 3.53 percent with an average 0.4 point, down from the prior week when it averaged 3.57 percent. A year ago at this time, the 15-year FRM averaged 4.08 percent.
- 5-year Treasury-indexed adjustable rate mortgage (ARM) averaged 3.66 percent with an average 0.4 point, up from 3.63 percent in the prior week’s survey. A year ago at this time, the 5-year ARM averaged 3.82 percent.
