Conforming Loan Limits Increased for Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac Loans

On November 25th the Federal Housing Finance Agency announced new 2020 maximum conforming loan limits for Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. In most areas of the country the maximum will be $510,400. However, California has several counties with substantially higher limits. The new ceiling for one-unit properties in the highest cost areas will be $765,600. This maximum ceiling is 150% of the baseline. California Counties that have the highest limit are Alameda, Contra Costa, Los Angeles, Marin, Orange, San Benito, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara and Santa Cruz.
